This is my most favorite time of the year. It feels like almost everyone feels the same way. Fall to me is the beginning of Christmas. Bear with me here. Christmas, is completely magical because everyone is so happy and for no reason at all. It’s absolutely wonderful. Autumn begins stirring those feelings inside of you. You get all cozy in big, thick sweaters made of yarn. You wrap up in knit hats and oversized scarves that double as blankets at football games and bonfires. You layer on big boots over thick socks and wool coats over cable knit sweaters. You feel like a burrito. It’s like a giant hug that never stops. Being bundled up, taking a deep breath in and the crisp autumn air fills your lungs and everything feels like hope and light grey.
And the delicious food enters center stage to kickstart the eventual dancing dreams of sugarplums. You know what I’m talking about. We’ve got pumpkin everything. Butternut squash soup simmers, apples are baked, and anything with cinnamon or nutmeg are inhaled immediately.
I didn’t want this season to pass without embracing the opportunity to indulge in daily fall dinners. So I made a list and I thought you’d might like to see it too. Feel free to print the list out and celebrate Autumn like a true American, with food! We have been crossing off the meals we’ve done so far. It’s made meal planning a kazillion times easier. I’ve added the links below and some pictures to get your taste buds tingling. If there is a meal you see on my list and you’d like to get the recipe, please let me know and I’d be happy to send it to you! I would also love to hear what you think about each meal you try. So far our favorites are the Pumpkin Risotto, Jillian’s Veggie Chili, and the Turkey Stuffing Bake.
